I've noticed that my iPhone 3G has slowed significantly since the update to 3.0 OS. I guess it struggles to cope with the additional features/functions of 3.0 but the 3GS phone can manage.

Mr Dick your comments about MJ are very harsh. I think you should learn to hold your tongue.

Listening back to the podcast it's neither harsh nor untrue although a tad insensitive considering how others feel about him. However I do agree with you and I should have stayed quiet on the matter as it's a tech podcast.

Thanks for the feedback.

We will let you off this time ;) . You and Shakreel are doing a good job. Can't wait for the next pod cast!

Didn't notice much slowdown when I upgraded the 3G although I felt battery life was reduced. Not sure if Shak has noticed slowdown – he hasn't said anything about it so far.

I wonder if this is like the 2.1 release where a 2.1.1 will come out and resolve all the niggles. I still remember the horrendous backups that took 40-50 mins and the app's that kept loosing their authentication which meant I had to wipe the iPhone and start fresh. Painful memories.

Hi Brian. I have the 3G iPhone upgraded to OS 3.0 and to be honest, other than the issue with the app icons I haven't noticed any slowdown. In fact I would probably say that to me it feels just a tad snappier, unless it's my imagination!? Certainly no slowdown though.
Are there any particular areas it seems slower? Or is it slower overall?
I have no doubt there are some issues with it and perhaps a patch will fix these issues.

It seems to be when I am trying to launch my contacts from a SMS/MMS that I am composing or turning the display to landscape mode. Anymore than 1 thing at a time seems to be a struggle.

Maybe I'm just subconsciously pining for the 3GS. Conscious or subconscious, I've already spunked the money on a Drobo.

A telecoms business article about overheating and Shakeel's (sp?) missing icon issue.

I've found my phone to be pretty clunky since the update to 3.0. It just isn't as smooth – there are delays (even though slight) that weren't there before. It's meant I've reset the phone a fair amount to just check that everything's in order. Hard to actually define where these delays are but it just doesn't feel anything like as slick and can even be frustrating at times.
